Pipe 1152 - reverse oval billiard

A classic shape with a twist…literally. The oval is in the width rather than the length of the bowl, giving it a sculpted Danish egg shape look. Due to the oval width of the bowl the shank bowl junction is very defined, again a very Danish feature, a design element often found on Scandinavian carvers like S Bang and Jess Chonowitsch. The shank is slender so I’ve precisely mounted a sterling band to protect its integrity. The bowl is covered by high contrast grain with a gorgeous flame on the front of the bowl. All finished with a handcut salmon/black tapered stem. The pipe is lightweight and well balanced and clenches well, it sits nicely too.
