SOLD Pipe 340 a seconds bent billard

This pipe became a labour of love I originally set it aside a few weeks back because of a gash in the shank which appeared when I was turning the shank on the lathe. Yesterday after finishing pipe 339 I decided to see if it was salvageable. I managed to get past most of the gash during shaping and applied a solid fill to close it up. I applied an extra thick Sem brindle shank band to preserve the shank integrity. There was also a gash inside the bowl which I cleaned up and then applied a thick bowl coating to even out the bowl surface. I probably shouldn’t have spent so much time on it but sometimes it feels good to overcome and make something useful out of what should have been fire wood.
